KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Diane Jurgens
CIO, General Motors, Asia Pacific

Diane Jurgens is General Motor’s Chief Information Officer, for Asia Pacific and the GM China Group. She reports directly to the Ralph Szygenda, Group Vice President and CIO with a dual reporting relationship to the President of Asia. In this capacity she is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of IT systems to accelerate the growth of GM’s automotive business throughout the Asia Pacific region. Most recently Ms. Jurgens served as the CIO, GM China group where she played a key role in the formation of the Shanghai OnStar joint venture.

In her prior assignments at GM, Ms. Jurgens was the Global Process and Systems Integration Director responsible for development and deployment of systems worldwide in support of GM’s vehicle development processes. She led the strategic direction and drove technology innovations for visualization, digital mockup and parametric design tools to support best-in-class design processes. Additionally, Jurgens worked with strategic software partners to ensure emerging technology will meet GM's product development and cycle-time requirements.

Prior to working at GM, Ms. Jurgens worked at The Boeing Company for the Information, Space and Defense Systems where she was the manager of CAD/PDM/CAE Integration. She joined the Boeing Company in 1986 and held positions of increasing responsibility in several business units (Military Airplanes, Missiles and Space, Computer Services, and Advanced Systems).

Ms. Jurgens graduated with honors with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington. She earned a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from Seattle University.

Since 2006 she has been living in Shanghai, China with her husband Peter. Her two children, Nicholas and Taylor Adriana attend the Concordia International School Shanghai.
